CAMBRIA AUDIO, INC. PRIVACY POLICY
CAMBRIA AUDIO, INC. (the “Company”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Site” refers to the Company’s website, which can be accessed at trycambria.com or cambria.audio.
“Service” refers to the Site and the Cambria desktop application (the “App”), including its AI copilot features and any related services we provide.
The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company.
“You” refers to you, as a user of our Site or our Service.
By accessing our Site or our Service, you accept our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
I. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect “Personal Information” and “Non-Personal Information.” Personal Information is information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you or your device. This includes the email, name, country of residence, contact information, and musical experience you provide when you register, as well as online identifiers such as cookie IDs, device identifiers, IP address, and account IDs. Non-Personal Information is information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you or your device, such as total visitor counts or the share of users who use a given feature.
1. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information from your browser or device, such as the referring URL, browser type, device type, IP address, pages viewed, and the date and time of access. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identifier that your browser stores. Because these identifiers can be linked to your browser or device, we treat them as Personal Information.
We use cookies for authentication and session management, for remembering your preferences (such as site theme, sign-in method, and consent choices), and for analytics. We use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as pages visited and time spent on the Site, which Google processes on our behalf. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Do Not Track. Our Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. We do not allow third parties to collect information about your activity across other websites over time through our Site.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card number. Stripe’s privacy policy governs payment data.
2. Information you provide us by registering for an account
In addition to the information provided automatically by your browser when you visit the Site, to become a subscriber to the Service you will need to create a personal profile. You can create a profile by registering with the Service and entering your email address and authenticating with a magic link, code, or OAuth provider. By registering, you are authorizing us to collect, store and use your email address in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
3. Children’s Privacy
The Site and the Service are intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe we have, contact us at support@trycambria.com.
4. Information collected through the Cambria App
Your projects stay on your device. Cambria project files and the audio files you import or create are stored locally on your computer. We do not store your audio files on our servers.
AI copilot requests. When you send a message to the copilot, we send your message, along with the project context needed to carry it out, to our servers and then to our AI model providers, including Anthropic, PBC; OpenAI OpCo, LLC; and Google LLC. That context may include track and clip names, arrangement and timing information, MIDI notes, mixer and effect settings, plugin names and parameters, measurements of your audio such as levels and frequency analysis, and short excerpts of your audio. Audio excerpts are used only to fulfill that request and are not stored on our servers. Under their commercial API terms, these providers do not use this data to train their models, though they may retain it for a limited period for abuse monitoring.
Usage and diagnostic data. The App collects information about how you use it. This includes sessions, features used, copilot requests and the edits the copilot made, whether you kept or undid those edits, errors, crash reports, performance data, app version, and operating system. We store this information with our database provider, Supabase, linked to your account.
How we use App data. We use this information to operate the copilot, troubleshoot problems, maintain security, prevent abuse, and understand and improve the App. We may also use copilot interaction data, meaning your requests, the project context, and the resulting edits, to develop and improve our own AI models. We will never use your audio, including excerpts sent to the copilot, to train AI models. You can opt out of this use at any time by emailing support@trycambria.com.
Pre-release versions. If you use a beta version of the App, we may collect more detailed diagnostic data to fix bugs, and features described here may change. We will update this Policy as the App changes.
5. Data Retention
We keep account information while your account is active and delete it within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except for records we must keep to meet legal obligations (such as payment records). Usage, diagnostic, and copilot interaction data is kept for up to 24 months and then deleted or de-identified. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or 12 months after public launch, whichever comes first. To request access to or deletion of your data, email support@trycambria.com.
II. HOW WE USE AND SHARE INFORMATION
Personal Information
Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information with third parties without your consent. We do share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for the Company, such as the servers for our email communications who are provided access to user’s email address for purposes of sending emails from us. Those vendors use your Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
In general, the Personal Information you provide to us is used to help us communicate with you. For example, we use Personal Information to contact users in response to questions, solicit feedback from users, provide technical support, and inform users about promotional offers.
We do not sell your Personal Information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our service providers include Vercel (website hosting), Google (email and analytics), Supabase (database and app analytics), Stripe (payments), and Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google (AI processing).
We may share Personal Information with outside parties if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce applicable Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations; address fraud, security or technical concerns; or to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
Non-Personal Information
We use aggregated or de-identified information to understand trends and improve the Service. We may share it with partners, investors, or the public (for example, “users made 10,000 edits last month”). We do not attempt to re-identify de-identified information.
III. HOW WE PROTECT INFORMATION
We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. We use secure sign-in methods, such as magic links, one-time codes, and OAuth providers, and we urge you to keep access to your email and connected accounts secure. We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
IV. YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You can stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any promotional email, or by emailing support@trycambria.com. Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send you administrative emails, such as notices of changes to this Privacy Policy.
You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your Personal Information by emailing support@trycambria.com. We will respond within 30 days.
V. LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
As part of the Service, we may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through the Site and the Service. Therefore, this Privacy Policy does not apply to your use of a third party website accessed by selecting a link on our Site or via our Service. To the extent that you access or use the Service through or on another website or application, then the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to your access or use of that site or application. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.
VI. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
The Company reserves the right to change this policy and our Terms of Use at any time. We will notify you of significant changes to our Privacy Policy by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account or by placing a prominent notice on our site. Significant changes will go into effect 30 days following such notification. Non-material changes or clarifications will take effect immediately. You should periodically check the Site and this privacy page for updates.
